Theme of the
Congress was "THE SPIRIT OF PEACE." The rings were
decorated with pots of the Spirit of Peace rose, and the
theme song was based on the music of "The Flower of
Scotland" with words written especially for the occasion by
Josephine Eatts:

The Catalogue
included sections for Absent Friends (Goldens
residing outside Australia), and a Hall of Fame with
photographs of Goldens considered ambassadors for the breed
-"with us in spirit."
International
visitors were welcomed from New Zealand, Canada, Czech
Republic, and United Kingdom.
Several social
functions were arranged, and a special National Raffle was
held. For the raffle, we were fortunate to receive Golden
Retriever Club mementos from many countries, and a
particularly generous donation of two beautiful gold and
silver Golden Retriever jewellery pieces from Mrs Lei Taft
of Sunrunner Goldens, Hawaii.
