Both dogs and bitches
compete at a Championship Show for challenge points towards
an
Australian
Championship Title. The Club's Championship Show is
usually held around the end of July or beginning of August
each year.
A Restricted to Golden
Retriever Obedience Trial is also held at the same time.
Every endeavour is made
to appoint a breed specialist international judge for the
Championship Show. A local judge usually officiates at the
Obedience trial and
this trial is restricted to Golden Retrievers only.
Generous trophies are
offered for all winners, along with sashes or
rosettes, and each class offers a Perpetual Trophy.
A highlight of our
Championship Shows is the Parade of Veterans, held at 09.00
am as an opening event. These Golden Retriever oldies represent many different disciplines - retrieving, obedience,
conformation and community service.
